Soldier geek

It’s funny but when computer games came out they were essentially leisure activities with no discernible benefits apart from entertaining young children.
Having taken the day off of doing any real work today, and having my buddy drop round, it seemed the ideal time to kick back and play some Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on the PS3. Yeah baby.
The strange thing is though that this multi player war game platform is soon going to change the face of modern warfare beyond all recognition. Played in real time with multiple participants this is now as close as it gets to going into battle without being there. The military are already working on unmanned fighter planes controlled from a bunker in the desert and in no time at all basic soldier machines will be out there. They will have eyes and ears, be agile and quick and be lightly armoured as well as have offensive weapons capacities. And whereas once the school jock ended up in the military and the school geeks ended up in apple mac support it will soon be the case that the geeks are fighting it out from the comfort of an arm chair hooked up via a PS3 controller to a battle droid in a warzone.
The advantages are blindingly obvious of course in that there is little or no human life lost on the side of the robot warriors, especially on the battle field and if your robot goes down through being attacked then bring on another.
I best get back to training for my country eh?
