All of those who know me are aware of the fact that I work from my home in Liverpool. Working from home is definitely fun. You are your own boss and are answerable to no one but yourself. Especially, if you have spent years working in a full time job, you will love the freedom to set your own working hours, make your own rules, and live without the worry of getting fired.
Since you are enjoying the amazing benefits of working from home, you will have to bear the responsibilities as well. In addition to reaping benefits, you are also in charge to handle the cons associated with the rule-less and boss-less job. One of the biggest challenges that people face while working from home is motivation. There are so many distractions around you that it often becomes difficult to remain motivated and extract the best possible performance from yourself.
So, what can you do to keep yourself motivated? Here are some simple tips:
- Set small and realistic goals for yourself.
- Keep in mind the reasons and factors that made you start working from home.
- Work as per a to-do list. Make sure that your to-do list is updated every day and all the tasks are checked off the list when they are completed.
- Give some time to the social activities, even if they mean that you spend some on the social and professional networking portals. This will keep you away from loneliness while helping you gain good social and professional contacts at the same time.
