If you have been sleeping for the last six months, it may have slipped your attention that the internet as we know it is in danger of being completely destroyed. Not by crazy hackers or info terrorists, but by silly members of government which are making decisions on things which they know absolutely nothing about. You may not be aware of the dire consequences that may occur if the government decide to enforce new laws regarding online ‘piracy’, but the laws being proposed to stop this ‘piracy’ will in fact give governments the power to shut down, without warning or reason, just about any website that they want to. This is an extremely dangerous situation to be in, and one that should be carefully considered before any major decisions are made.

The idea is that governments need new, stronger laws to help fight the growing problem of online piracy of music, film and literature. The truth of the matter is that the proposed laws far extend any circumstances of online piracy which cannot already be sanctioned by current law. They highlighted this fact when they decided to shut down the Megavideo website due to piracy laws, and arrest the owner of the site for breaching international copyright laws. Surely the fact that they were able to shut down and sanction one of the largest online file sharing sites, under existing laws only goes to prove the fact that no more laws are needed to tackle the situation. The new laws would effectively enable agencies to shut off sites without warning and without justification beyond saying it is for breach of copyright. How far can this go?

The worrying thing is that almost every single site on the internet uses or shares content, media, music or literature which they do not have copyright for. They are not using it to make profits, simply to enjoy and share. Is this such a problem, or is it part of freedom of speech and expression which is supposed to be what is so great about the internet? With the new powers, sites such as Facebook, Google ,Twitter, AOL, and any other site or search engine which may link into a copyright infringing page could be shut down as well. The whole situation could ruin the free enterprise and ingenuity which has made the internet such a huge success, and all because a few major film and music companies have claimed to be loosing mega profits due to copyright issues.

The situation is so ridiculous that a good, honest site such as PC repair Kensington could have a link on their site to another site, which happens to contain some background music which they do not have the copyright to, and both sites could just be cut off without warning under the new laws. One for infringement, and one for advertising an infringing site. Governments need to be careful what laws they are bringing into being, as in the wrong hands these laws could cause devastation on the internet, which would cause a global financial crash.

As a freelance web designer I never really thought about how much energy my laptop was using until I came across the Enigin scam busters website. Originally I just clicked onto it whilst cruising for a decent design template to mirror for a client, but when I started reading the content I got really hooked. Did you know for example that there has been a sharp rise in energy providers and private companies who have been offering consumption monitors that whilst good, appear designed merely to increase the income of the company providing it? Neither did I, but it’s happening more often than not.

As I am a massive fan of creative web design, Enigin came up on a Google search I ran for ‘innovative design and architecture’. The site loads quickly and is easy to navigate which is great! Flash animation has been accused of slowing sites down, but if used properly it can add great character to your business. But I haven’t even got to the best part yet…how to save money and reduce energy consumption.

The Enigin Scam Busting Way

Being a freelancer means that I do nose around a lot of things I wouldn’t otherwise have bothered with. It also means I end up spending more time looking at websites when I should be working. Hey, I consider it to be part of my job! Anyway I’m supposed to be talking about the Enigin scam thing.

Enigin are an energy saving company that have been going since the 1970s. As such they know more than anyone else in the industry about how to monitor consumption and save energy. For me (and for most others) this directly translates into how to save money! Whilst it’s great doing our bit for the planet, I’m always up for saving money simply because we live in tough times and I need to know what’s going on with my bank balance.

The Eniscope is the technology they use to help people monitor their energy consumption in a building and it is amongst the most salivating devices I have ever had the pleasure of mooning over – being a tech geek means that I have a right to do and say things like this. The Eniscope allows a user to monitor the energy consumption of a building in real time, meaning that you can gather all the information you need of the total energy usage at any time of the day. So if you wanted to find out how much power a building was drawing at 1 in the afternoon, you can. Similarly you can gain a total output reading of the past 24 hours or more at any point you wish to. Flexibility is the key here and Enigin scam busters allows you to model the system around what you need it to be.

What’s the point?

How can any tech geek not be excited by stuff like this? If I was the head of a large corporation I would invest in the technology without hesitation. The benefits mean that I would save money and energy and to top it all off, do my bit in reducing my carbon footprint. What’s not to like about tech like this? As I have applied the principles of the Eniscope to my own daily routines, I now know how to reduce my utility bills and monitor my energy usage more effectively. And all because I stumbled across a site called Enigin scam busters.

This would allow you to use advanced software features of your mobile phone and install apps that can either ease the management of your computer for example or allow you for distant connections with your home based system - something that would be crucial for new Windows Phone customers.

Why is it always the case that the best we have invented always ends up in the barrel of gun? I dont just mean a gun in literal sense. I mean it in the sense of arms, why is it that the nuke bomb came before the nuclear power plant, the lazer guided weapons before the lazer eye surgery, the spy camera before the camera itself. We have all the more justifiable reasons as to why we do this. Yes ofcourse, man would put the best of what he knows into protect himself first and then capitalize on it but is it really that essential to put a country in front of another in a perpetually endless arms race that could only lead to disasters that will increase in size and might?
While some bigger nations force other smaller nations to disarm their nukes why dont the bigger one not make them in the first place? Yes and one may say that the axis went against the allies, but who cut of their oil supplies of in the first place? All these unrelated yet relavent chain of events cause people to spend more time defending a truth or lie in order to keep their integrity intact. Why does the exo-skeleton first have to be apart of the improvement on the million dollar marine corps than a break through to help the disabled?
I’ll never surely have all the answers to this but sure hope it raises a question or two when we vote and think about the future of what priorities we put ahead in our lives first.
